Drivers

Drivers must be aged between 25 and 70 years of age and have held a full current driving licence for two years or more. The licence must be free of endorsements (except minor speeding or parking offences) and MUST BE PRODUCED AT TIME OF VEHICLE COLLECTION ALONG WITH ONE OTHER FORM OF IDENTIFICATION, eg credit card, utility bill or passport. We reserve the right to cancel the hire, if at the commencement of hire, nominated drivers licences are invalid or not in accordance with the conditions. In these cirucmstances, all monies paid by the hirer will be kept by Tay Tourers. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the hirer receives the vehicle booked, should any unforeseen damage or fault occur and it is not possible for us to restore the vehicle to its full roadworthy condition, then we reserve the right to offer a substitute vehicle, to return any payments made by the hirer or cancel the hire if this is deemed necessary.

Reservations

A completed motorhome booking form should be returned together with a deposit of £250 per week. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. A booking confirmation letter will be sent out to you along with an invoice for the remaining balance which is payable 28 days prior to hire starting. Cheques must clear before the vehicle leaves the premises.

Insurance

Comprehensive insurance is provided by Tay Tourers and is included in the hire charge, but the hirer is responsible for the insurance excess of £400 which will be due, in cash, on day of commencement by way of a security deposit. If there is any damage to the vehicle during the hire, the security deposit will not be refunded. The cost of any repair will be deducted and the balance, if any, returned to you.

Collection and Return

The normal minimal hire period is one week, although other periods may be allowed after discussion. The motorhome will be ready for collection any time after 2 pm and must be returned by 10 am. We offer free car parking, clients are welcome to leave their vehicles on our premises at no cost at their own risk. There will be a surcharge of £100 plus daily rate for late return vehicles. Please ensure vehicle is returned in a clean and undamaged condition. A charge of £50 will be incurred if the toilet is not emptied and clean. Tay Tourers also reserve the right to deduct from the insurance deposit cost of any repairs or cleaning that may be required.

Diesel, Oil & Punctures

The motorhome is available with a full tank of diesel and is to be returned with a full tank, otherwise a deduction will be made from the insurance deposit. The hirer is responsible to carry out daily checks on oil, water levels and tyre pressures. You are also responsible for any repair of punctures and damaged tyres.

Liability

You are responsible for all expenses incurred due to violation of traffic laws, regulations etc. In the event of an accident which is not due to the hirer's negligence, our liability is limited to a refund of hire charge for any days lost.

Breakdown / Accident

All accidents / breakdowns must be reported to us immediately for further instruction. Repairs must first be authorised by ourselves and VAT receipts retained in order for us to reimburse the cost. An accident report must be completed and returned to us on termination of hire. It is highly recommended that the hirers have personal AA or RAC recovery plans, for Europe this is compulsory.

Gas

Each motorhome is supplied with two bottles of gas.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in any motorhome and infringement of this condition will result in a loss of insurance deposit. 

Cancellations

Should the hirer wish to cancel, the deposit will not be refunded.
